Meet Shannon
“My advice is to look hard and really go for what you want. It’s hard to get yourself out there, but if you’ve got something in your mind then just go for it. Push yourself outside your comfort zone, it’s scary but the further out you go the easier it gets.” – Shannon, FCS
Employment services - FAQs
What is a Disability Employment Service?
Disability Employment Services (DES) support people with disability to find and keep a job. Through DES, people with a disability, injury or health condition may be able to receive assistance to prepare for employment.
At CPL, our DES is called Mylestones. Mylestones can help you find supported or open employment, provide training opportunities, or help you get started with writing your cover letter and resume.
When you are ready, contact Mylestones on 1300 635 627.
How do I know if I'm able to get a job?
Everyone can get a job! We can work with you to find out what your goals and passions are so we can find a job that's right for you. We can work with your employer to make sure the workplace is suitable for you. Plus, we can seek funding for workplace modifications if you need them.
I'm about to graduate, can you help me?
Whether you're graduating high school or university, we're here to help. Our Transition to Work programs include School Leaver Employment Supports (SLES), Student Worker Experience and Employment Training Program and the University Specialist Employment Program (USEP). We can also tailor our support to whatever your goals may be.
